On November 16th, in partnership with the North Carolina-based organization Rise Against Hunger, more than 200 students from APO, KD, and other campus groups came together to package meals to be sent to areas throughout the world in need of immediate hunger relief. In the three months leading up to the event, APO brothers worked hard to spread awareness of RAH’s mission, recruit volunteers, and fundraise almost $7,500—even more than we originally planned. We contacted family and friends, shared information over social media, held a pumpkin smash fundraiser, hosted a bake sale, and sold RAH t-shirts. All of this hard work was well worth it, because it allowed us to fund enough food for 22,030 meals.
Although hosting an event like RAH is a good step towards bringing awareness to world hunger and helping aid those in need, our work cannot stop here. APO will continue to fight food insecurities in our community and beyond by working with local food banks such as Second Harvest and Crisis Control Ministries, and partnering with Wake organizations like Campus Kitchen and Campus Gardens. We will not forget our experience fundraising for and packaging meals in 2018, and look forward to partnering with Rise Against Hunger once again in 2019! We believe ending world hunger by 2030 is possible if we work together and inspire others to do the same! #2030ispossible — Lilly Parker, Fall 2018 VP of Service |
to the brotherhoodAn important aspect of the APO brotherhood--service to the fraternity itself--is a crucial step in creating an environment where every brother is looking out for one another. Whether it's driving other brothers to service or social events, bringing snacks to chapter meetings, or cleaning and organizing our lounge space, service to the brotherhood gives us an understood duty to help out our fellow brothers in any way possible.

to the campus of wfuServing on the campus of Wake Forest means to give a helping hand to campus activities and events whenever possible. This may including gardening and recycling at the campus garden, setting up luminaries on the quad for Love Feast, ushering for plays and special events, or any other area on campus that could use the assistance of our willing and hardworking brothers.

Our largest area of service every semester occurs outside of the gates of Wake and within the Winston-Salem community. APO brothers participate in programs that deliver meals to residents in surrounding neighborhoods, provide tutors in schools and local community centers, fundraise for cancer drives, serve the homeless population in downtown WS, and much, much more. The community partners we work with on a regular basis are listed below!
